Eligibility Criteria 

Master’s degree with 55% marks in aggregate in a relevant discipline or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST and Interview.
Other conditions, as prescribed in the Guidelines for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs.
5% relaxation to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / differently-abled candidates.

Selection Criteria

An applicant will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of his/ her score in the entrance examination LPUNEST (Ph.D.).
The final selection for admission in Ph.D. will be based on the performance in Entrance Test (70% weightage) and Interview (30% weightage) subject to score minimum marks in the Interview.

Exemption from Entrance Test
Applicants who have qualified UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR (NET/ JRF)/ ICAR (JRF/ SRF) examination/ SLET (Punjab only)/ GATE or GPAT scorecard/ ICAR (NET), SPM, Teacher Fellowship holder or passed M.Phil. Program (in Regular mode only) are exempted from LPUNEST (Ph.D.).
NoteThe exemption is for LPUNEST (Ph.D.) only but the applicant will have to fill the LPUNEST (Ph.D.) form and appear for the Interview. The applicants are required to bring the original documents against which exemption is sought at the time of interview.
GATE/GPAT score should be valid at the time of admission.
The final selection for admission in Ph.D. will be based on the performance in Entrance Test (70% weightage) and Interview (30% weightage) subject to score minimum marks in the Interview. However, if anyone is exempted from LPUNEST (Ph.D.) entrance test, then 100% weightage will be given to the Interview only.       

 Application Process

Application form will be in a format that can be processed by Optical Mark Reader (OMR).
Cost of LPUNEST Kit (Application Form) is Rs. 500 (for Boys) and Rs. 250 (for Girls). Application fee once paid will not be refunded.
Option-IApplicant can apply for LPUNEST without purchasing LPUNEST Kit.

For online application, Applicant should have Online Banking facility through Net banking / Debit card / Credit card.
Option-IIApplicant may obtain LPUNEST Kit from University Campus or any other prescribed place by paying cash.
ManualFill the full application form (OMR sheet) after reading all the instructions as specified under the head “Instructions for filling Application Form (OMR sheet)” and sent it to the university in the self-addressed envelope.
