Eligibility Criteria
PhD in Law		An applicant holding LL.M. Degree from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized
PhD in Mgt.		MBA/ MCom degree or equivalent PG Diploma or Associateship in a relevant discipline, and a Bachelor’s degree with a good academic record or Five year integrated master degree/ dual degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline with a good academic record (minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded) and having a valid scores in UGC/CSIR NET/CU PhD entrance test.
PhD in Tourism & Hospitality Mgt.		Candidates with 55 % marks in Post-Graduation in relevant field. The candidates having 3 years executive experience in Tourism & Hospitality industry may register for the Ph.D. program if otherwise eligible as per the University/UGC norms. As per the U.G.C. Guidelines
PhD in Biotechnology		Candidate with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology/ Sciences/ Pharmacy or relevant stream with a good academic record (minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded) and having a valid score in UGC/CSIR-NET/ C U-Ph.D. Entrance Test
PhD in Forensic Sci.		Candidates with a Master’s degree in Forensic Sciences and related fields i.e. M.A Criminology, Digital Forensic (MCA), LLM, M.Sc. in Life Sciences i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Post graduate in Social Science, Psychology, Computers, Engineering, Physical Science, Engineering, Ballistics, Arms and Ammunition with good academic record (minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale
PhD in Education		Candidate with a Master’s degree / M.Ed in Education with a good academic record (minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded) and having a valid score in UGC/CSIR-NET/C U-PhD Entrance Test
PhD in Computer Applications		Master’s degree in Computer Applications/Computer Science / Information Technology or equipment with a good academic record (minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded) and having a valid score in UGC/CSIR-NET/C U-Ph.D. Entrance Test
PhD in Psychology		Candidate with a Master’s degree in Psychology with a good academic record (minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded) and having a valid score in UGC/CSIR-NET/C U-PhD Entrance Test
PhD in English		Candidate with a Master’s degree in English with a good academic record (minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded) and having a valid score in UGC/CSIR-NET/C U-PhD Entrance Test
PhD in Agriculture Sci.		M.Sc. degree in concerned discipline with research thesis in partial fulfillment of the program in the concerned discipline from a recognized University/UGC norms with 55% marks and having a valid score in UGC/CSIR-NET/CU-PhD Entrance Test
PhD in Sciences		Master’s degree in the Sciences with a good academic record (minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded) and having a valid score in UGC/CSIR-NET/C U-PhD Entrance Test
PhD in Mass Comm.		Candidate with a Master’s degree in Mass Comm. / Film /Animation with a good academic record (minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded) and having a valid score in UGC/CSIR-NET/C U-PhD Entrance Test
Application Process
For admission to PhD Programmes for July2020 (Intake) of the session 2020-21 candidates need to register and fill the application online only by accessing the website http://www.cuchd.in
Step 1: Apply for PhD programmes
a)	Register
b)	Login
c)	Apply Online.
d)	Finalize Application Form
e)	Download Application Form and Bank Challan simultaneously (Take a print out of the entire file on A4 size white sheets)
Online Mode	Deposit the requisite fee of Rs.1100/- through Net-Banking/Debit/Credit Card after Registration
Offline Mode	Deposit the requisite fee of Rs.1100/- in any branch of State Bank of India throughout the country on the next working day. (Bank Service Charges will be extra) on downloaded bank challan form alongwith completed application form.
Note the Transaction ID as mentioned on the bank Challan after depositing the fee.
Complete your Registration process by again visiting your Half-completed online Application Form through Login Application and fill the required Details provided by Bank
Step 2
a)	Paste your recent photograph (3.5 cm X 3.5 cm) at the designated place.
b)	Sign at the designated place.
Step 3
a)	Submission Before submission of your application form, make sure that, in addition to the above other relevant documents as indicated below are attached:
b)	Chandigarh University copy of challan
c)	GATE/NET Certificate (if applicable)
d)	Copies of all the marksheets, degree certificates, or provisional certificate if they have passed their qualifying degree
e)	Copy of OBC/SC/ST/PD category certificate if any
f)	Copy of experience and NOC certificate for part time candidates
g)	All documents can be handed over personally to the UNIVERSITY CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT, Block-3 A, Room No. 204, CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY, GHARUAN, MOHALI, PUNJAB on or before July 05, 2020
h)	Information brochure cum Entrance test form fee: Rs.1100/-
Selection Process
Eligible candidates possessing the minimum educational qualifications and satisfying additional criteria as set above, will be called for an interview by the PhD Admission committee.
Based on the academic record and the performance of the candidates in the interview and/ or test, the admission committee will recommend to the Vice Chancellor the names of candidates found suitable for admission to the PhD Program.
