Eligibility Criteria for Calcutta University PhD in Polymer Science and Technology Admissions 2021

  • Candidates willing to pursue research work leading to the Ph.D. (Tech.) degree in Polymer Science & Technology should apply.
  • Interested candidates (including those working in various projects under departmental faculties but yet to register for Ph.D.) having degree in Bachelor of Technology (subject to provision of 4.4 of Ph.D. regulation) or Engineering (any stream) or Master of Science (any stream) without NET/GATE/M.Phil. are invited to appear for a written examination of PET.
  • Candidates having degree in Master of Science with NET/GATE/M.Phil or candidates having degree in Master of Engineering or Technology need not sit for the written test of PET and they may directly appear for the interview of the PET. Percentage at the Master's level should be at least 55% marks.
  • Successful candidates (in written test and/or interview of PET) will be eligible to register for their Ph.D. in the Department of Polymer Science and Technology.

  • Application Form can be downloaded at the official website https://www.caluniv.ac.in/
  • Candidates willing to pursue research work leading to the Ph.D. (Tech.) degree in Polymer Science & Technology, University of Calcutta, should apply online in the prescribed format attached herewith to the HOD email address hodpst1@ gmail. com or kspoly@caluniv.ac.in by 01st February, 2021.
  • Submit the filled up Application Form, self-attested copy of relevant mark sheets, along with the receipt of deposition of Application Fee of Rs. 100/-, paid through State Bank Collect within the due date to the Head, Department of Polymer Science & Technology, University of Calcutta through Email (hodpst1@gmail.com).

Selection Process

  • Selection will be based on an online written test and/or interview of PET.
  • PET Examination will be through online mode entirely using Google Classroom platform (For written test) and Google Meet (For Interview).
