Eligibility Criteria for MSSV Nagaon PhD Admission 2021
Persons with Post Graduate degree from any recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA). A 5% of marks in the eligibility norms shall be relaxed for the candidates of the reserved category.
Persons working in national institutes /government / private organizations nominated/ sponsored by the respective employer. These persons should have a recognized Post-Graduate degree, with minimum marks required.
The above-noted rules will also be applicable to overseas candidates who have obtained a master’s degree from the statutory Indian / foreign Universities.
Application for research in interdisciplinary subject areas and from applicants belonging to the faculty or subject other than the faculty or subject in which the research project is proposed to be undertaken shall be considered on the basis of the proven competence of the candidate. Application for such research projects will be meticulously examined by the research supervisor and the Research Advisory Committee of the department concerned, subject to approval by the Vice-  Chancellor, MSSV. Admission for foreign students with 55% marks in the Master Degree or equivalent CGPA, relevant Passport and Visa, may be considered, subject to the approval of the Vice-Chancellor, MSSV. Eligibility for applying to the Centre for North East Studies: Persons with Post Graduate degree in Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Economics, Folklore, Geography, History & Political Science from any recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA). The candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR-NET/(JRF) including SLET/SET or passed M.Phil. Degrees (through regular mode only) in the concerned subject are exempted from the written examination of MSSVRAT. However, they shall have to appear in the Viva-voce examination. MSSV Nagaon PhD Admission 2021 Application Process Eligible Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. Program are to apply in the prescribed form available in the University Website which can be downloaded (for offline submission) or they can Apply Online through the Admission 2021 Ph.D. Section in the University Website and submit therein followed by  Fee payment through the link available in the University website Online Mode Candidates can also apply Online through the website: www.mssv.ac.in. They can access through the ‘Admission 2021 -Ph.D. Section Apply now’ banner “Application Form for Ph.D. Programmes” on the homepage of the University website, fill in the application form therein, upload documents followed by Online Payment. Offline Mode Eligible Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. Programs are to apply in the prescribed form only (available both Online and Offline). Forms can also be downloaded from the website: www.mssv.ac.in, in which case the filled-in forms must be submitted to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya, Haladhar BhuyanPath, Kalongpar, Nagaon-782001. Submission of Application form The filled up downloaded forms shall have to be completed in all respects. Incomplete forms shall be rejected. The completed forms along with self-attested copies of all required testimonials along with a payment of Rs. 2,000/- (two thousand only) in Cash in the Accounts Section of the University (enclose payment receipt) or accompanied by a Bank Draft drawn in favor of the Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya, payable at State  Bank of India, Nagaon Main Branch (Code No- 00146). Application Form accompanied with all details are to be addressed to The Assistant Registrar (Academic), Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya, HaladharBhuyan Path, Kalongpar, Nagaon-782001 and can be submitted in both the campuses of the University within the scheduled last date. Applications received after the last date shall not be accepted. (Applicable for Offline submission only).

Processing of Application of Foreign Students
Applications of foreign students with proper official documents, including passport and visa, either sponsored or non-sponsored, being qualified for admission to the research program, shall be examined by the Registrar, and the same shall have to be approved by the Vice-Chancellor, subject to the ratification by the Academic Council, MSSV.

Selection Process
Selection of candidates for admission shall be made on the basis of the Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya Research Admission Test (MSSVRAT) and Viva-Voce.
